Located in the southwestern part of Nanjing, the Youth Olympic Village (YOV) will be 3 km away from the Olympic Sports Centre, and 10 km away from downtown. It will occupy an area of 21.7 hectares, and will be accessible by 4 bus lines. During the YOG, temporary bus lines and special bus routes will be operated to connect all competition and non-competition venues.

The YOV consists of three zones: the Residential Zone, the Village Square, and the Operational Zone. The total floor area of the YOV will be 182,060 m2 and that of the living quarters will be 154,560 m2.

The Residential Zone, located in the southern part of the YOV, will provide 5,187 beds for athletes and YOG officials, as well as other participants if needed. There will be two types of housing units: one with a surface area of 104 m2 and the other 124 m2. Each housing unit consists of 3 or 4 bedrooms, each room with a surface area of 11 to 16 m2.

The Main Media Centre (MMC) of the YOG will be located at Jinling Convention Centre which is in the western part of Nanjing. The convention centre, completed in 2008, is accessible by 5 bus lines and 2 underground lines. It is 1.8 km away from the Olympic Sports Centre, 2 km away from the YOV, and less than 20 minutes drive to most sports venues. During the YOG, the shuttle bus service will be provided between the MMC and all sports venues, the YOV,
the IOC Hotel and the hotels where media representatives stay.

With a total area of 80,000 m2, the convention centre has 1 conference hall (5,000 m2), 2 multi-function halls (1,000-2,000 m2), and 35 multi-function rooms (40-384 m2). It has parking spaces for 3,500 vehicles. It is a large complex where conventions, exhibitions, and performances.
